With 15+ years of dog training experience as a pet owner, pet dog trainer, and a service dog trainer, we are here to help you! We understand it can be overwhelming to have a puppy, adolescent dog, or even an older dog who is impulsive and doesn't listen. There is hope--you can gain peace and harmony in your home.
If you like it, reward it. This is a core underlining principle for teaching your puppy basic household manners, developing emotional regulation (aka impulse control), building confidence through socialization and developing community manners. This prevents problem behaviors from becoming habits as you start to create a Zen Household.
Back to the Basics. Puppy adolescence is all about consistency, patience, and calmness as your puppy goes through the physiological process of becoming a mature adult dog. This phase is tough. We support, encourage, and guide you through the basics while also keeping their adolescent mentally stimulated with outlets for physical activity in nature.
Limit Choices for Success. Rescue pups have been through a lot of change. They can easily be overwhelmed with choices and lack of structure . They are similar to puppies and adolescent puppies all in one for their acclimation and training needs for home and community manners.
Prepare for the Visit. A vet or grooming appointment is mostly focused on managing the dog to achieve medical or grooming care. We give you tools by training prior to the visits while also partnering with your vet or groomer to provide management tips to make the experience as positive as possible. We will also work on larger cooperative care goals in your home, at a vet clinic (after hours), and/or a grooming setting during non busy hours.
A Family Dog. We encourage the entire family to be involved in the caring and training of your K9 companion. We teach you and your kids on fundamentals of dog interaction etiquette, how to play with your dog, grooming needs, and outlets for mental and physical stimulation. ***Fundamentals are modified for kids' developmental stage.
Nose Knows Best. Our K9 Companions rely on us for so much. Tracking is a sport that allows the dog to solve puzzles on their own with their nose with no direction from us. Our goals is to help set up "training scenarios" to help your dog discover how to use his/her nose and then gradually solve more difficult puzzles. This is great for pups needing confidence, rescue dogs, older dogs, and high drive working dogs. In other words, it is great for EVERY dog.
